URBAN SUPPORT EXTENDED DAY PROGRAMS
An exciting, extended day program is happening in the Caddo Parish School District. It is called the 21st Century Community Learning Centers. 21st CCLC will offer many opportunities for students to improve their academic skills while participating in fun, positive and enriching after school activities.
Academic Achievement - Enrichment Opportunities
21st CCLC is a state funded program, under No Child Left Behind, designed to provide extended learning and enrichment opportunities to students and parents. Activities and classes are provided at schools in the Caddo Parish School District. Enrichment activities consist of nutrition, health and fitness, STEM (science, technology, engineering, math), and STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, math) components daily. In accordance with Urban Support Agency, lnc.'s contract with the Louisiana Department of Education (LDOE), academic and cultural enrichment activities coordinated through this office will be a part of the daily and weekly afterschool program schedules. Enrichment guidelines require cognitive and psycho-motor skills. Fields trips are coordinated with site based leadership and approved by the Louisiana Department of Education prior to attending. Funds availability is also a determining factor for all field trips.
CADDO COMMISSION PROGRAM
The Caddo Commission Program is a parish based program in neighborhoods throughout the parish benefitting over 250 students (depending on funds received). Benefits to the parish include keeping children safe in the neighborhoods, improving academic success of schools, reducing the crime rate and increasing employment. Focus is placed on academics, enrichment, mentoring, funtology, career awareness, culture, and etiquette.
